Wow, We had a lot of fun with our Bunco Dinner participants. We would like to thank all of our participants, Donors and advertisers for their support on this event. We had over 40 players participate in this fun event. We hope to do it again soon. I personally did not win any of the big prizes for most buncos, most wins or even most losses, But I did have a wonderful time playing with all the people who participated. I did win a raffle prize however so I did not come out empty handed. There were several people who walked away with raffle prizes donated by local businesses and we would like to say a Special Thanks to Those business who are: Gifts Galore and More, Golden Valley Post Office, Juanita's Beauty Shop, Mohave Wireless and the Riverside Resort Hotel and Casino in Laughlin. We would also like to Thank Redneck's Southern Pit BBQ for providing a Great meal for us to serve at a considerable discount to our club. They worked with us to enable us to provide dinner for all of our participants and volunteers. We really appreciate their help with this event.
February 10, 2010 Golden Valley Kiwanis hosts blood drive through United Blood Services. We collected 27 units of much needed blood which stays in our local community. Look for future blood drives coming in May, August and November during 2010. We are pleased to provide this service to our community. We hope more of you will come and donate blood.
Thanksgiving Dinner
A good time was had by all who attended our Free Thanksgiving Dinner. The Food was prepared by the Java Plum Cafe and was very good. The servers and bus staff were all Volunteers who gave their time to this community event. We were able to provide hundreds of people with a good meal and good company some of whom may have been otherwise alone for the holiday or just did not have any reason to cook a big Thanksgiving Feast. I want to say a special thanks to all of our volunteers, Guests and our co-hosts the Golden Valley Chamber of Commerce and the Java Plum Cafe'.
The Golden Valley Kiwanis Piknik in the Park & Pool Party was held on August 2, 2009.
27 young people ages 9-14 were taken by bus from Golden Valley to Metcalf Park in Kingman for a picnic and games then to the downtown pool for a private evening swim party. The event was fun for the kids as well as the adult chaperones that attended. The Golden Valley Kiwanis would like to thank all those who made this day possible specifically Kingman Assembly of God for use of their bus, Carol Park for her services as driver, The Golden Paradise Landowners for use of their building and all the parents, kids and chaperones who participated.
We would also like to thank the Powerhouse Kiwanis for the use of their barbeque grill and the volunteers that attended also we would like to thank all of the local businesses that allowed us to post flyers for the event and advertising for us. Your help has made the difference. We are actively seeking new members from the community who would like to improve the lives of our Golden Valley Youth.
