Our club is now part of the Kingman Powerhouse Kiwanis. While our official name has changed, our members and mission have not changed. Our satellite fundraisers support Golden Valley Children and our members strive to improve the lives of our local Golden Valley Children through our Programs such as BUGs for 3rd, 4th & 5th Graders at Black Mountain Elementary. BUG stands for Bringing Up Grades. It is a recognition program designed to encourage students to improve their grades by offering individual recognition for their continuing efforts to do better in school.
Our club provides a Certificate and BUG Award for each student which shows how many grades have been improved. These are given out during a ceremony in front of the rest of their class. Snacks and Drinks are provided to the whole class. We also have provided some funding for school uniform shirts, sports equipment, field trips. We sponsor summer swim parties for Golden Valley Kids. We support the Kingman Powerhouse Clothe the Kids and Scholarship programs as those programs have always included Golden Valley Kids.
